Look at the flower bed in both photos. Same stones, same garden statue, same patio chair. When somebody shows you a before and after, check that it's the same house.
Twice a year, not once.
The standard advice everywhere is a “fall gutter cleaning.” Down here that's only half the story — our live oaks shed in spring, and they drop catkins while they do it. Catkins mat together and clog a gutter worse than leaves.
Most homes in Ascension Parish need service twice: late fall for the pines and sweetgums, and spring for the oaks — before hurricane season, when your gutters have to move a six-inch rain event.
